SYSTEM

Summary – The Aquatron 1200 is a large capacity inclined base stainless steel tank system for installation in a basement or separate building.
It is suited for a large number of uses such as Schools or public restrooms or larger houses.

Like all Aquatron systems it  uses a conventional full flush toilet into the aquatron spinner to leave solids for the tank and liquids for separate treatment.

The tank is an inclined base with the solids entering the top and slowly moving down to the bottom to be taken out when composted.

Liquids are taken to an underground irrigation area via a UV filter.

This is a suitable system for where a conventional toilet is needed in a high use situation, but composting of solids would be desired rather than conventional septic or sewage treatment..

System Type – Full flush – Tank (Inclined base)

Liquids mode – No urine separation in the standard system, although a urine separating toilet pedestal can be used if required.

Situation – The 1200 system is a large capacity system, suitable for public buildings, office buildings, schools and large homes.
As a large tank system, the building must have a large basement or outside area on a sloping site.

Operation – In the bathroom, the pedestal is a standard flush toilet.

Below the bathroom, the “Aquatron Separator” separates the solids from the liquids and the solids go down into the inclined base, stainless steel tank where they are deposited at the top and slowly move down the inclined base until they reach the bottom where they are removed and used as compost in garden plantings..
Composting worms can be added to the composting chamber to speed up composting.

Liquids from the Aquatron separator and from drainage of the solids pile are UV treated and then further treated either in a greywater system or ground absorption bed.

Capacity – One tank will be suitable for 150 to 200 persons in a day working situation.

Design – As with all Aquatron systems, the “Aquatron Separator” is the main component of the design. It allows a full flush toilet tobe used and then take out the solids to greatly reduce the organic load of the liquid effluent compared to sewage and septic systems.

The inclined base system is a large capacity system in a stainless steel tank and allows large capacity as well as shock loading.
Fresh toilet solids enter the top of the tank and are removed at the bottom after composting through a hatch. This process can take years depending on the loading of the system.

Any liquids drained from the tank are added to the spun out liquids at the top to be UV treated and  then on to below ground irrigation.

A venting system is added to the system to allow any odours to be removed and increase air flow for the composting process.

Construction – The pedestal is a conventional full flush ceramic toilet pedestal. The tank is stainless steel. Components are made from recyclable polyethylene and glass reinforced polyester. The life span is 50 years.

Dimensions
Height: 187cm (total with separator and bio chamber)
Size of bio chamber (LxWxH): 1870mm x 800mm x 1275mm

Certifications – European Technical Approval ETA-13/0078, SP Swedish National Testing and Research Institute report and Certificates of approval from SITAC. Copies of the reports are available on the site at www.aquatron.se/document

Energy Use – There is no electrical consumption in the toilet and composting unit. If you choose to use the UV treatment for the greywater, then the unit uses 2 UV lamps. If one of the lamps breaks it activates an alarm signal. UV electrical consumption is  30 W.

System Includes – Tank and accessories, aquatron spinner and joining pipes. Remote systems require extra pipe and plumbing fittings.

Options Available – A UV system for treating the liquids is available.
A phosphorus filter is also available where warranted.
A urine diversion pedestal is also available

Greywater Solution – A UV treatment system for greywater is available. The UV treatment eliminates bacterial and virus and the liquid is then equivalent to greywater and can be treated in a conventional greywater system. The UV filter runs for 3 – 5 years before changing bulb is needed.

Installations – Aquatron has been manufacturing Aquatron solid-liquid separators since 1986 with many systems sold in Scandinavia and overseas.
